October 10, 2008

Back from Toronto, no poutine, but a good amount of ethnic food. Ethiopian for lunch, and a fairly hardcore Chinese dinner that included Deep Fried Lamb, Fried Whole Cod, Sirloin w/Avocado and Cashew nut, and about 12 other delightful dishes. Had an awesome potato pancake at breakfast. Brought in about 180 people to the last night of the WLS tour.

Leaving tomorrow @ 6:30 am for this glorious place: Island Too Small to show on Map

October 7, 2008

Ok- so I totally missed the boat on almost 3,000 miles (make the 6k back and forth) worth of travel. 18 hour days and work insanity and I just couldn't post. Here I am, a bunch of flights later. Since the last post, I've eaten this:
Helped welcome this guy into the world:

A trip to Charlotte, NC and back. Home for 3 days, and back in the wonderful world of Canadia. Toronto to be exact. Doing the last and final WLS event tomorrow night. Thanks for checking in....

September 17, 2008

Scheduled to be out to Seattle arriving September 16 at about 1pm. Got bumped, picked up a free round tripper via Alaska, then scored this pic (illegally I might add) from the plane; probably at about 28,000 feet over western MA

Best part was sitting in traffic for 1 hour at 12:30am Sept. 17 on the entrance to I-5 out of SEA. Drove 30 miles to Lynnwood where I crashed for the night.

Woke up- then headed north to the 'couv. I stopped at my favorite little town just south of the boarder crossing, Bellingham, WA. Ate a "denver omlette," In quotes, cause it wasn't from Denver.

Quick stop to see the ole Joseph family in Richmond, BC Canada, then to the aiport to pick up Eddie and Clint from Apple. Did some studio tours, ate some sushi, had some knight caps (I know it's spelled night, but knight seemed way cooler) now I'm here. Will post again later.

Sweetwater WLS event was tonight. Spent most of the day trying to get our guitarist John from New York to Ft. Wayne. This didn't happen; well, not in time at least. They canceled his flight from New York to Detroit. Instead, I got him routed to Chicago, where he then took a cab 30 miles to the nearest Avis station willing to rent a car 1-way to Ft. Wayne. While this is going on, I'm working on the contingency plan; teaching a Sweetwater employee the guitar part (awesome since I don't play guitar) and getting him into the grove of our show. Of course, setting up gear, dealing with VIP's, egos, and all the rest. John didn't make it until 9pm. (the event started at 7) Our contingency plan went off without a hitch and we had 240 people show up. Didn't leave the fort until 10:30, missed ordering dinner with the crew and ate pizza instead. I then had 3 cups of burnaise (sp?) sauce spilled all over my pants rendering them useless. It's 12:30am, I'm pissed off and all I got was one really shitty picture with my new phone which I hate.

Out of Ft. Wayne at 6:30 pm tomorrow but only after an 8 hour training day w/the staff.

Totally too lazy to write or post pictures. Saw My Morning Jacket and the Pats game over the weekend; huge weekend. In Ft. Wayne and doing a WLS event tomorrow night. Have fun.
Cheers,

Strong event in Washington DC; 100 or so. This is an amazing feat for the dealer we worked with.
Spent the day traveling around from DC to Philadelphia.

Ate a crazy wrap consisting of grilled chicken and crab dip. ya, weird.

Visited 2 large studios; Sheffield recording and Omega. Sheffield does all of the remote BSO and July 4th broadcasts from their remote broadcast truck. I'll be spending sometime on the truck when in Boston for sure. Here's a shot of their modified digital SSL console; kind of like a G4000 w/digital control:

Hitting 2 accounts tomorrow, then on the 2:30 train to Boston out of Philli.

Ok- behind again. Sorry, or not. Headed down to NYC Monday w/Stacey on Amtrak and spent the day hanging out. Met up with Ryan Penny (awesome) and we walked across the brooklyn bridge, drank some beer, ate some bad fish tacos.
We then met up w/Kasey for some dinner @ Fred's on the upper west side. They make a ridiculous mac and chee w/bacon. Didn't snap a shot so take my word for it.

Did the first night of the WLS (Waves Logic Studio Tour) at the GC NYC. 180 people turned out. Pretty darn good. No pics yet, but some to come soon.

Currently sitting on the Acela en-route to Washington DC for night # 2. With Eddie Kramer and our guitarist John Caban.

August 27, 2008 (a few days late)

Yep- I've had my first stutter in travel updates. I'm writing this from Scummerville, so I've missed the boat. I'll leave it to a few pictures. Had a solid time w/the family in Charlotte and I'll be back on heavy travel immediately after labor day.

Snapped this @ Bagel City. ha

I also have some pictures from the studio w/Eddie Kramer. Is it actually me?

August 21, 2008

Today was a day filled with DC area traffic and Guitar Center; the making of a mental breakdown. Not much to report.

I get to eat at a sweet bagel place tomorrow morning. Those who know me (who am I kidding, the 2 people who read this know me very well; probably my mother and Stacey) know that I LOVE BAGELS. I'd be a bad jew from Long Island if I didn't. You'd also know that I rarely eat bagels or pizza outside a 10 mile radius of any NYC Burrough or Huntington, NY. Bagel City is pretty legit and will deliver the goods tomorrow AM. Local yelpers agree:

Ate a pretty gnarls veggie burger for dinner. Here it is:

Spalluto if you read this, you'd be pissed to know that those pickles are a deadly mix of bread and butter and dill. I don't know the mad pickle scientist who created these, but they would surely piss you off.

Cheers for now, bye.

August 20, 2008

And it begins, again. A 6:00 am flight out of Boston to Richmond, VA connecting @ JFK means only 1 thing; peakaboo with the clock from the time I try to get to sleep, until I watch the alarm go off. No fun.

This is where I stay tonight. The only saving grace; 1 LCD TV and 1 family owned Mexican Restaurant across the street. 4:30am has caught up on me and I'm cooked.

Don Jose's is legit. You're looking at the GRANDE CALUEZON! Grilled Shrimp, Chicken, andBeef together in harmony, coupled with some good ole beans and rice. The staff extremely attentive, and is more than happy to fill your gullet with thousands of calories.

Ok- slow day today. A bit tedious on our rehearsals, putting the mix in place. I did manage to eat bacon twice today helping to add to my

Looking forward to my red-eye tonight out of LAX. Those are always fun. Generally they are sleepless, uncomfortable and annoying. One plus is that I'm home first thing AM.

Spent the day @ the Apple Training Center in Santa Monica. Working with the Apple team, Eddie Kramer, and John Caban on our North American Tour.

Some action shots too...

Didn't eat anything exciting, so it's not included here...

August 11, 2008

So, I've already screwed up my plan. Originally, I was going to snap a photo of the flight info @ the gate at the airport. It was obviously too much for me to handle at 6am.

Spent the day mixing an Eddie Kramer production.

I managed to eat only 1 meal today:

Double Double Animal Style...ya.
